In order for you to read a .pdf file you will require Adobe Reader. If you do not have Adobe Reader installed on your computer, a free copy (version 6) is available at Adobe Reader. (Before down loading you must review the System Requirements listed on their web site).

Acrobat 4.x on Windows: To configure Internet Explorer, AOL, or Netscape to use an Acrobat 4.x viewer as a helper application on Windows:

  • Exit your web browser (or AOL if you are using the AOL integrated browser window).
  • Start your Acrobat viewer.
  • Choose File -> Preferences -> General.
  • Deselect (un-check) "Web Browser Integration" in the Options section, and then click OK.
  • Exit the Acrobat Viewer (select File -> Exit).
  • Restart your web browser (or AOL if you are using the AOL integrated web browser window). Note: The next time you select a link to a PDF file, a dialog box will appear that askes what you would like to do with the file. If you tell the browser to Open it, then the browser will open the PDF file in your Acrobat viewer as a helper application. If you tell the browser to Save it, then the browser will save the PDF file to your hard drive, from which you can open it later.
